Turn based or Real Time?

Hello guys! I am looking this game with a lot of interest, because I like 4x games a lot. I played the heck out of Master of Orion II and Space Empires IV... I bought Alpha Centauri and Alien Crossfire... but never played them!!

The most important thing to know before buying/trying this new game: Is this a strictly turn based game, like, for example Panzer Corps, where you can take all the time you need to think your moves? Or is it some kind of hybrid turn based - real time stoppable, bla, bla hated thing?

I like the maps which I saw in screenshots a lot (one of the most important factors in those games for me), but the "not-strictly-turn-based" factor is a killer for me...

Could someone tell me? Is there a demo to download?
Thanks!!!

Hi guille1434,

The game is strictly turn based between human players and AIs, so the AI will never interrupt your move and you have all the time in the world to think. Giving a non-stressful gaming experience was one of our main design goals.

In multiplayer human players take their turn simultaneously, which makes the game fully viable in live sessions. We had a blast even playing with four or more players!

You basically get the best of both worlds. Oh, and really fast turn processing on top of that.

I second the fact that turn processing is top notch. Nice and fast (at least in single player), never tried multiplayer.

Thanks void and robc! This is VERY good news to me! You just got a new copy sold! :-)
Another short question, and I promise I will not annoy you any further: Is there the possibility to mod unit icons into the game, in the same way as in PzCorps? That is: To change the existing units graphics for new or modified original ones? Thanks again!

I was reading the manual downloadable in .pdf form... It remembered me somewhat the background story of M.A.X. (Mechanized Assault and Exploration) game... Any simmilarities with that absolutely super-AMAZING game? I spent so much night and day hours playing it also!! :-)

Indeed... I think this game is an inmortal classic... By the way, I would absolutely LOVE that the guys here (Slitherine/Proxy, etc...) make someday a remake of a moddable M.A.X. game with HUGE hex-based maps. I would buy not one, but ten copies of it, if needed! Think about of what PzCorps is to Panzer General...

By the way, M.A.X. 2 was a total waste, so please, don't bother developing a remake of it! :-)

Please? :-)

I repeat my query, because it very important for me to know...

You can add and change unit graphics, but they're 3D so making them is a lot more complex.

Thanks for the answer SephiRok. What format are the graphic files? Are also .png files? Could one add simpler, 2d graphics? Or the game will only accept 3d graphic in some specific format?
The trurh is that I don't like the visual appeal of very big unit icons in relation to the map features, as in, for example, Civ 5 game... The human figures were taller than trees!

Thanks again!
