Timeline inconsistency

Sorry to be a stickler, but this is bugging me. According to the manual, Pandora is in the Nashira system, which per Wikipedia is 139 light years distant. At 0.7c, by the time the colonists arrive, two centuries would have passed on Earth, not just 33 years as it says in the chronology. And they only depart after getting the slower probe data back, which was dispatched in the 2030s and would have taken more than four centuries for the round trip. The earliest this game can feasibly be set in Earth time is about 2645, not 2116 as stated in the manual.

I think it's awesome that a real star was chosen to host Pandora. I just wish that choice made more sense for a universe with no FTL travel.

Fortunately we did not go after the Nashira system as in the Wikipedia article you're referring to. Pandora is loosely based on Gliese 667 Cc.

(Dan here, the writer). Yarp, what Rok said. I wrote it around Gliese 667 Cc, I think. We had a hell of time getting that timeline straight.
