Hi guys,

I would like to buy this game ASAP (I'm a HUGE fan of Alpha Centauri, is still installed on my computer) but before I would like to know if it will run on my computer. I have a laptop with a Intel HD 4000. I don't care about graphics details because I will probably buy a Steam Machine, but if I buy it now I want to play it.

Thank you,
M

Hey melrief,

Spec-wise it should work, but I can't guarantee it 100% since I don't have one to test. We can assist and find solutions if you have any problems.

In short, our goal is that it should work, but due to limited graphics memory you'll likely have to run on low settings if you want decent performance.

Maybe Slitherine or another player can confirm how it runs.

Best regards,

Good! I bought it. I can give you some feedback guys on how it works on my laptop. The only problem is that I bought the Windows version because I read PC and I wasn't aware of the platform-specific buying options. I already asked to shift my copy of the game from Windows to Linux. I will try the game on my computer as soon as possible and then let you know how are the performance.

Thank you SephiRok

Just for fun, I tried this through wine (I bought the "PC" version, fah) - the game plays nicely on a Linux laptop with a HD 4000.

However, the game itself does take a long time to load to the main menu (loading meshes, etc). Like, 5 minutes. So, I'll be playing this on my windows desktop for a while, until Slitherine get me a download link for the Linux version.
