Multiplayer: Can't connect?

I can see my friend's server in the Pandora browser, but I get a "cannot connect to server" error.
We'd like to test out using direct IP however we do not know which port the game uses.. there is nothing on the manual about this.
Firewall is clear, think maybe a portforwarding issue?
EDIT: just found the port settings in the "network" tab of the game options, set that to known and tested open ports, not working in direct connect. Is this an issue on the game end or... ?

Hey Lebb,
I'm sorry you're having issues.
Connecting through the lobby can bypass most router issues, but forwarding the TCP port specified in the settings of the host should resolve everything.
If you're having issues, even without forwarding ports, please attach logs, preferably for both the host and client, right after the error occurs for the first time. Please also specify which way you were connecting and if you forwarded the port on your router. This will help us investigate further and improve it in the future.
Best regards,

I'm also having connection problems. I've tried with my ports forwarded and unforwarded, or I think I have. My router is quite old.
How do I get those logs for you?

Hey,
I have attached logs. I'll see if I can get my buddy to do the same.

There may have been an error with his installation. He's saying that the folder did not exist. He's reinstalling now, I'll be sure to keep you informed.
