Sorry you are having probelms. Which version of the game do you have - i.e. what language and where did you buy it?
Can you try editing the user.txt file in your data directory and adding the line NOSOUND 1. Some sounds cards have conflicts and turning off the sound can fix the problem.
You could also try re-installing in case it is just missing some files or something has become corrupted.

Can you explain in more detail exactly how it goes wrong as this might help us track it down. You see the intro movie and then what exactly do you see, where do you click and what happens?
Have you downloaded any mods or changed any files yourself?

no mods, no changes.. did a re-install.. the game starts... I see the intro.. it goes into the campaign mode (telling me what to hit), i see the guys, their stats, and all that good stuff, and when it has me hit the campaign button (a-la-top of the screen) the game kicks out, and gives me an error message syaing that thcgbor.exe has enocountered a problem and needs to close. The sound works, the movies work... but I cannot seem to get past this little part

One thing you could try is exiting the tutorial prior to that point, to rule it out as a tutorial problem.
It sounds like it's getting into the army screen OK, so the 3D is working, it's just when it tries to fight a battle. Could it be an issue with memory? Some integrated video cards allow you to tinker with how much texture memory they will let you have. It might also be worth checking the advanced video options (right click the desktop, Properties->Settings->Advanced) to make sure that everything applicable is set to Application Defined (or something similar).
This doesn't seem to be something simple, so hopefully we can get you running...
Cheers
Pip

Hmmm. OK. It's very odd - we actually developed the game mostly on nVidia cards, and this isn't an issue we have seen before.
I would suggest trying a reinstall in case something is corrupted.
Can you also check whether you can see the credits without it crashing?
Cheers
Pip
