How do you determine if your opponent has a game advantage?

During the set up of a PBEM game, how does a player know if his opponent has placed the game settings at even or given himself a large advantage?
If click the statistics icon and page through the last page is the game start screen when the game was started.
It will show all of the options selected and any advantage given to one side or the other.
