First Impressions of beta

Installed the game okay. I was a bit confused by the fact it didn't ask for the serial number at start of install as does most other Matrix Games. But I continued on.
Then was prompted for it when game first started. - this might need to be a bit clearer to old Matrix Gamers
Started my first game. The screen map and images were all black (rather nothing was being displayed). Immediately thought of drivers. I am using a ATI Mobility 4500 series. The driver is OpenGl compatible but not obviously high enough. My PC said it was running latest drivers, but did some research. I found a newer AMD Catalyst that installed a newer driver. This corrected the issue and map/images displayed correctly.
Started playing for 10 minutes. Intuitively without referring to manual or readme. This was very good.
Only inconvenience so far was continually having to update research. In other such games, you can give a research path. Not sure if that is available.
Now I remember what this reminds me of .. Starship Trooper
