Suggestion: non-sequential unit actions

Being a Panzer General series fan i´ve found quite strange that, in CEAW, once you activate an unit, you are forced to make all your actions with it before switching to another unit.
That means you are not allowed to make "hit and run" tactis. If you attack an enemy unit and forces it to retreat you MUST follow it or stand where you are. You are not allowed to move anywhere else. Just like a tabletop wargame (because it´s hard to remember which unit have moved and which not). OK, i could live with that.
But also moving units forces you to attack with them or "lose it". If you don´t attack and instead you click on other unit you are not allowed to return later. I don´t like this at all...
I feel it´s too restrictive and doesn´t allow to perform combined attacks. Something like: "commander, place your infantry corps on the hills and wait to attack until the tank corps have crossed the river". So you can´t encircle units and that...this is not possible at all...does anybody else miss this issue? Or maybe i´ve played PG too much?
Edit: Please add an UNDO button somewhere! It´s quite frustrating clicking on the wrong hex and couldn´t revert it.
Thanks for reading,
