Other the asian "workerbee" sorta offensive racial stereotype all the faction leaders look like constipated white people. Same skinny nose non-curly hair light skin type. No piercings? No Augmentations/mutantions? Google Glass? Maori face tattoos?

These people came from the same place on the planet which was a dimly lit garden of eden ecologically. The eden faction should be made of up people with bad mutantions from Earth's environment damage? "This is why we need to keep the planet clean!" Instead we get a vapid hippy chick. How many 3-headed babies did that girl miscarry before she joined up?

I think no matter how the faction cultures/images are designed, you'll be offended somehow.

If the leaders were all black and I said something similar to your comment, people would grab their torches and pitchforks and call me the scum of the Earth.

Anyways, I support adding more factions, rather than using limited resources to change the factions that have gone through development.

If the basics are not good, i can see how more could be better

I created a list of potential factions... mostly ideologies and a few possible names. Some of the ideas are original, others are inspired by ideas I've seen around.

I think I'm waiting around for good timing when my list will receive the most appreciation. Right now is bad timing to post it because the developers all occupied getting things ready for release. But I'll eventually make a thread of possible faction ideas and request that it be made sticky. I guess the idea is to add them in a post-release patch or an expansion.

The problem is that the artist is using Magna Character Creator for Noobs and hasnt upgraded to the pro version which comes with multiple skin pigments. If we are going to draw from the SMAC stereotypes why Yang but no Lal , Gonzalez or Morgan?
