Teutonic Nerds AAR, the story so far.

Wasn't drawn to any of the factions. I like the art and the quotes. Reminds me of Alpha Centauri a bit. But I wasn't drawn to wanting to play any of them.They are fine as adversaries. I would like a space pirate/bandit king sort of faction please. It would probably be a lot like the imperials just with more flash and style. After all a rebel is just a financially embarassed aristocrat. If you don't want to make a lot of new factions let us customize. But I would actually prefer you guys made more of your own. The quotes and art are awesome.

10 Minutes into the game so far playing as the teutonic nerd faction. I really like the graphics so far and the "feel." I had forgotten all about this game but now I am starting to think I might be playing the spiritual successor for alpha centauri. Very excited.

Field training seems linked to future developments. So I'll research that. Ve need ze troopers yavul herr Nerdstrom. Build troopers.

My atv heroically scouts... A lot of alien stuff nearby. Go check it out.

Maybe I should check the compendium real quick. Wow this is deep. A lot here and well laid out.

Turn 2.


ATV ran into a galeth that looked like it will kick his butt. Run away. Proceeding to alien structures.

Turn 3.

Alien observatory discovered. Scary looking sea beasts discovered. Carcharodon. More artwork for various critters please.

Ruins explored. 65 credits. Ho hum.

Turn 4.

Exploration today revealed the dismal situation of our landing site. We are on a small peninsula completely walled in by mountains. Not even enough room for another settlement. Well maybe one. But ve must take to ze seas herr Nerd! (maybe I get to be a pirate after all.)

Turn 5. Nevermind, apparently ATV isn't kidding. Mountains no problem for these buggies. Found horrific looking xenomorph... what is this a colony or something?? Looks more killable than the Galeth but ATV is gonna need back up. Continue exploring.Hopefully the xenomorphs won't bogart any technology or creds until I can kill them. They are living next to what is apparently a garden of eden and it's about time the humans came home.

Turn 6.

Field training researched, time to take apart this colony ship and see what I can do with it.

Found out the rather depressing fact that even though my ATV can drive over mountains it can't drive through a square with a lake in it. Ok....

Turn 7.

Eww fungus! Run away!

Turn 8.

Ortgen has grown. I like the city management. This current generation of settlers will work as scientists for now. I want that colony ship dissembled and we need better guns for those xenomorphs occupying the garden of eden.

Found the rest of the buttons at the bottom of the screen. My military adviser tells me our forces are sufficient. Clearly, he lies.

Encountered flock of scites. Hey I thought scite was the old english word for poop.

Turn 9.

Crap another flock of scites. Tex and Jimmy are getting nervous in the ATV. They want permission to fire but I tell them to wait until the enemy is.... coming right for them. Moving out they discover alien fertilizer and put some distance between them and the growing scite menace.

Turn 10.

More xenomorphs. Looks like we got quite a bit of local competition my fellow nerds. We'll need more troopers!

Turn 11.

Wow look at all this alien stuff! This changes everything!


First half hour. Skipping ahead.


March 2112.

Well so much for peaceful expansion. I got twitchy waiting for some bugs to get off an alien site so I could loot it. Sent the kill order and it was executed. Next turn the planet retaliated.

The fighting has been brutal. Two out of three colony sites are still going strong. Ontgen has become a stinking polluted metropolis. Pandora, Humanity has come.


Sept 2112.

Make contact with the gardeners.

Ugh. Professor Nerdstrom out.



Nov 2114

Expansion across New Teutonia (our continent p.s why can't we name geographical features of have them autonamed in events or something?) continues apace. The planet is being pushed back and our colonies are spreading. NAP signed with the Gardeners. No other contacts yet but I know they are out there.

Dec 2114

First Galeth attack! He killed on of my hellfire units for no reason. Up until now the Galeth had not been a part of the war for Pandora. I guess they don't like all my new colonies in their old turf. My new assault lancers can handle them.

Feb 2115

That jerk the admiral is demanding money. I'll give him war instead if he isn't careful.

April 2115...

This might be my last entry. The planet.. the damned planet.. It pushed back hard and Ontgen was lost. Our capital.. Our great accomplishments. All in ruins. All that remains is are a few settlements weakly garrisoned. The alien forces have us massively outnumbered.

April 2118.

we have lost precious time. But thanks to our Revenge class tank (get it, revenge of the nerds?) we have retaken all lost ground and burned many hives.

Aug 2118 Captain Jerkface declares war. I guess he didn't like me getting my continent back.





2 hours of game play. I'm hooked. Will buy. Don't rest on your laurels though. Make more stuff for this game but don't get all dlc crazy. That junk is annoying.
