Genghis Khan

Hi everyone, I was reading myself around the forum & suddenly an idea popped into my head: "Has anyone ever made a game about the life of Genghis Khan"?
"No", I thought, "not anyone I know of".
So I thought Slitherine maybe would want to make a game about the life of Genghis Khan, since I dont think it's ever been done and it would probably look kinda unique, unlike the masses of games about chivalric knights of the medieval era or the prosperous Romans. Genghis Khan would have more of a barbarian/tribal look to it.
You would start as young Temuchin (Former name of Genghis) as he attempts to unite all the steppe tribes of Mongolia under his own flag. Later campaigns might be about how he and his ancestors conquer China and later march into Europe.
You could have this game in the style of Legion Arena or Legion or whatever you like.
Perhaps you can use this idea, but I wont be dissapointed if you don't, as I know you have more than enought to do as it is.
Thank you for reading this post

Just stumbled upon this post. Kleniemann, not sure if you are still out there, but there was a Genghis Khan game that did just what you proposed. It was made in the early 90's by KOEI first for the Nintendo platform and then ported to PC. Not sure where you'd find it these days, but I played my share of it. It was pretty good overall.

I hear ya. I'm a Mac guy myself. I actually played it on the Nintendo NES many years ago. It had some weaknesses, but was also pretty addicting.

I have Genghis Khan II, Clan of the Grey Wolf. It's been a favorite for years, and I have actually played it in the last 48 hours
For me it's an old favorite that I play for an hour or so just before bed, when I'm too tired for CEAW or anything serious, but not quite ready to call it quite yet.
The game is like all Japanese games in that it is just plain different from western games. There are unexpected subtleties and surprises to the game as well. It's always rather cool when something you've never seen before happens in an old favorite game.

I have to admit, I was pretty addicted to Clan of the Gray Wolf as well... interesting game that spans the known world (Asia and Europe), takes ages to play, and requires you to marry and create heirs... although it is quite old and dated, the fundamentals are still there for a great game (if you can find it, of course). I had it for a gaming console although which one completely escapes me now.

I have the PC version, which ran in DOS, of course.
I run it using DOSBox 0.72, (previous versions had a cursor issue) an excellent DOS emulator available for free from Sourceforge.net
DOSBox is so amazingly cool, it does not just emulate DOS, it provides a full DOS environment, including emulation of all contemporary (to the old games) sound cards!
And almost all those old familiar DOS commands work in DOSBox. Remember "dir /p" ??
