Can anyone tell me please where are the savegames under xp for Fantasykommander.
Why it can"t be found in the mainfolder like it was for 1000 s of Games for so many years.
Its the same for "Field of Glory ". The savegames are on my Systempartiotion i try to keep clean.

I guess somewhere under ...\Documents and Settings\Your-account-name\Application Data

Easiest is just to use windows search for this. Look for this folder.

Just to give some context, writing files into the installation folder for apps is now frowned on, and contrary to the best practice guidelines from Microsoft. Writing user files to the My Documents folder means that machines with multiple users don't have to share saves etc, and that the files can more easily be backed up. It also means that there aren't problems trying to write to protected installations, etc.

So that's why most new games will write their user data into My Documents somewhere. It is (IIRC) possible to move your My Documents folder to another drive if you do wish to keep your system partition as clean as possible.

Horrible and extremely hard-to-find storage space for saving
Why not use any normal place, for example C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games?

No way to find the savegame, really strange.
