Tunisia Feasibility?

Hi All,

I'm new to the boards but was pondering the feasibility of Tunisia mods. Has anyone worked on any? Given that Sicily and the Western Desert have been done, and French TOE is readily available from the 1940 campaign, it seems like it'd be a reasonable proposition.

Thanks,

Patrick

Unfortunately, no one has tried. Been hoping for one for a long time! :(

Well, that sounds like a go for it! Seriously, I may give it a go after mucking around with the mod engine and beta-ing a bit.

Thanks for the encouragement, LandMarine, my name is Patrick.

I'd do it myself for an Operation Torch but the Scheldt has me tied down

I have all the research materials. Heck I have a bunch of miniatures scenarios I put together for Command Decision years ago sitting in files. Any thoughts regarding scope? I was thinking that probably Faid, Sidi Bou Zid, and then the Kasserine Battles (Sbiba, Kasserine, Hamra and Thala) would be a good place to start.

Don't forget the Vichy French resistance either! I'd love to see the US M5 Stuarts go against German tigers :) this reminds me of the good ol days of the Playstation 2..... I loved the North African Campagin I'm Call of duty Big Red One!

Thanks, Morge.

I agree LandMarine, but I gotta start somewhere. When I get finished with the February 43 Battles above, I'd probably do the El Guettar Campaign and then the Race to Tunis (NOV-DEC 42). French forces were present as the Vichy forces under Juin had flipped to the Allies.

Well, there is no other way. Hang on for a few more weeks and the first wave of Tunisia scenarios are on their way for beta. Things are on track for a Tournament GJS style simulating the Race To Tunis, hopefully after the New Year. I bumped the Race To Tunis into first place because it would make a great tourney. After that, I plan to do the same thing all over again for Kasserine (including a tourney). Kasserine battles should start to be avalable next spring.

So I am on it!

Remember that some Vichy forces were allied to nazis

It is just so spectacular. Looking at the video for like the 25th time, he even nailed little "barrel roll" in the backk of the turret on the Mk.III to enable it to have a loader and a 4 man crew! Fantastic!

Not in this first wave of scenarios.
