In this AAR I will not only describe the progress of the battle, but also my thought of the scenario and how to improve it. You are all very welcome to contribute with your thoughts and ideas.
We've already played a couple of turns, but my strategy has been to use my engineers to block much of the ways into the city. My main line of defence is in the first row of houses, but I got some units watching his move. So far I understand he attack along the entire front, with most units on my left. My first arty targeted the Crossroads after spotting lots of infantry near the windmill. The arty did not kill any units, but did some damage and suppression. His arty hit the entrance closest to the Crossroads killing one 75mm and a truck. One of my scouts was caught in the marshes and was killed before it could move into safety. I'm trying to slow his advance by suppressing his Shermans. My Pz-IV had a lucky shot killing one Sherman on my right flank.
This is the first time I play the scenario. Usually I play against myself just to find any major errors. This means I have no idea how balanced the forces are and that makes it very exciting. I don't know if I've been too generous to the Germans giving them three engineers as it seems they can block most routes into the city before any Canadians reach the houses...
