I'm a new Scourge of War player: the latest Gettysburg and Antietam; I favor Antietam since my 3rd Gt. Uncle died for the Union near Burnside Bridge on 9/17/1862. Am interested in problems/resolutions to playing the game successfully; welcome!

I think you are in the wrong forum Terry. Those places are about 360+ years into the future

Hi Terry
Don't take offence at Phil, you need to know him to know his sense of humour.
Tell us a little more about yourself.
Whereabouts are you?
Are you currently playing or looking to play tabletop FOG?
Rob

It wasn't humour Rob, this site is nothing to do with Scourge of War or the ACW.
Its about FoG Ancients. Ask a question on that and Terry will get an answer.
If he wants to find players he doesn't say where

Thanks Rob for "getting it". But with Phil's lack of courtesy, I'll look elsewhere!

You'll probably have better luck for this on this site

Phil, don't care whether you were trying to be funny or not. Your posts were completely uncalled for, unnecessary and offensive.

Phil please don't say things like this even in jest. Blanking out the characters does little to hide the bad language. Lets try and be a little more forgiving for new posters who accidentally posted in the wrong forum.

None of it was in jest Iain.
If someone wants to reply like a petulant child to an honest comment they will get another honest reply. If some self-righteous buffoon then wishes to have a go he will get an honest reply too.
Perhaps I'm not suited for this forum

Just this one?
Phil I think the chap may have deliberately posted in this forum thinking that some people here would also have an interest in ACW (I do, mostly through playing the
Gleam of Bayonets board game of Antietam/Sharpsburg). Of course had he explained that in his first post he might have had more success. I think he took your "surely you're in the wrong forum?" badly as a result.

Possibly, although I suspect we'll never know.
It's been quite an entertaining thread though. I can see why people enjoy some of the threads I get involved with now.

I'm all a bit confused - what kind of response was Terry looking for - I thought the original response was fine - sure got a little escalated after that but...

I've still got some of the private emails he sent me. I particularly liked the one where he called me a "sarcastic, unctious, litte git."
