Hello i recently got spartan from the store for my laptop and have had the game a long time on CD However when i start the game starts up i can view the intro video and skip it but after that i keep getting spartan.exe has stopped working.

i have tried everything to get it to work. I have ran the game in admin mode, changed compatibility mode and downloaded the vista/windows 7 fix yet the game refuses to run. The same thing also happens on my dekstop PC when i try to install the disc version. Can this game run on windows 7:/? i have Legion Gold and the game runs fine with no issues.

my desktop is running windows 7 premium 64 bit
my laptop is running windows 7 starter 32 bit

thanks for any help would love to play this game since i have spent money on the store to play it on my laptop and miss the old game play of it.

The game runs on Windows 7. But of course we can never guarantee that will work in every system.
Try the following:
Open the folder where you have installed the game. Locate a folder named "data" and open it. Rename the folder "Movies" to "_Movies".
Run the game.

Still the same problem sadly after i changed the folder name. Game starts up then hits me back with spartan.exe has stopped working anything else i can try? thanks for helping btw

Could you please post a DxDiag report file?

How to get a DxDiag re file:

1. click on "START" (on Windows 8 Press "Windows Key" + "R" and go to 3)
2. click "run" m(on Windows 8 jump to step 3)
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
6. open the text file, copy the contents, and post along with your issue.

Hello I just bought the game yesterday and Im having the same problem, i tried renaming the movie folder but now it wont even play the intro Im trying to the run the game with windows 10. any help would be appreciated. thank you.

without a report, i have no idea, install and run as admin and make sure you install the prerequisites but any more help is just guess without a report as mentioned

Never mind, I changed the compability mode to Windows 7 and worked. Thank you.

I just purchased this game but am on Mac how do I get it to run without windows software?

the game is for windows, i have no idea on Mac's i'm sorry to say, try bootcamp
