Hi all,

A quick reminder, so that you can't say you weren't prompted! Warfare entry price goes up from 1 October. £15 if you book now, £20 from Tuesday.

Get along to http://www.wargamesassociationreading.c ... ns-24.html and get your entry in. :D

Hi all again,

As noted on the Warfare webpage, competitions not at least half-full by 1 October are at risk of losing their allocated places to other themes, and may be pulled. The 15mm Destrier competition only has 7 entries to date. Please can anyone intending to come and play in Destrier get their entry in p.d.q., as otherwise you are likely to find that your spots have all been allocated to FOG:R and Warhammer!

Cheers,

Tim Child

Tim,

sorry, but the WAR website is a bag of s***e.

I've entered the competition, the money has gone from Paypal, but I got a transaction error on the website. After 10 minutes of clicking buttons trying to get the damned website to work. Can you please check I have been entered in the Destrier period.

Hi Dave,

If you're money has gone I'm sure that you're in. I will check with Steve T and copy you in. Please be polite to Steve, he's one of the diamonds of the hobby, a furniture restorer by trade (and a damn fine one at that) rather than a webmaster, and he's also bigger than me.

Is your virgin.net email the best one to use as the cc. for my email to Steve?

Cheers,

Tim

Actually Dave, I've just checked and I see that your entry is already listed. Steve's on the case quicker than me checking into the forums!

thanks Tim - I did get a confirmation email after I had posted the above message.

I was just providing some honest feedback on the website :) I have no doubt that yourself and Steve work very hard to make Warfare a big success and I'm just providing some insight into my customer experience ;)

We now have 10 players booked for 'Destrier' Tim - so enough for a 4 game competition.

I'm guessing from your post that it will still run but that you will offer the spare slots to other periods? Is that correct?

There may not be many of us but it's a pretty strong field - gulp! - no easy games there.

All themes now have enough to run, so no fears. But yes, the spare spaces will now be available for other competitions so if there are FOG players still dithering about whether to come and if so which to enter, buy your ticket now!!

FWIW, I spoke to Steve Thompson about it today, and he tells me that the problem is with certain browsers. We didn't have any issues last year, so something somewhere has presumably "upgraded". Anyway, he's been having a word, in his own inimicable fashion (let's say I wouldn't want to be on the other end of that word), with the providers and they tell us that it's a known bug but its in the process of being fixed. I.e. it won't be a problem next year.

Of course, whether we're stil using the same system next year might be up for debate!

Thanks Tim - its nice to see some honest feedback being acted upon and it making a difference. Pass on my thanks to Steve if he doesn't frequent the forum.

I checked the WAR site this morning but I'm struggling to see who to send my army list to?

Help please.

Warfare list-checker details and competition rules are now on the site, b.t.w.!

http://www.wargamesassociationreading.c ... ns-24.html

The critical bit for those drafting army-lists is that it's 6'x4'-ish this year again for all three competitions, and time-limits are 3h 15m +/- a bit, finish the end of the current phase when I shout the big shout.

Nah Tim, he's going blind.

They did warn him if he continued with those practices that he would.

Hmmm..........fairly predictable Rob but I guess I did rather leave the door open for that one. I prefer to blame it upon my advancing senility. :?

Look on the bright side Pete - no matter how close to senillity you are, at least you wont have to compete with the field of 287 currently registered players they seem to have in FOW EW..

from the Warfare website;
(287) Just 3 places left
