Brigade Move: Include Arty Prolonging???

1. Can unlimbered artillery be in a Brigade Group with an infantry unit? (I assume: yes.)
2. Can that Brigade Group move 2MU forward in a Movement Phase assuming the leading divisional commander issues the CP (or inherent) and the Brigade passes the CMT?
In other words, can prolonging artillery be part of a Brigade Move?

Page 40 says you can have 1 artillery unit with a brigade group. Does not specify limbered or unlimbered. I don't see why the brigade group could not attempt a CT to try and get the artillery to move with it. At that rate my Austrians will look like greased lightning running across the table top

The point being, the divisional commander will count as 'with' and thus they pass on a '4.'

Not to mention you will need 3 command points to try for a second move.

For a first Brigade Move (inf + arty prolonging to 2MU) 1 CP (paid for by inherent).
If it was making a second move, the arty would most likely be limbered and then still just 1 CP.
Now, never thought of trying to make a second prolong with artillery...that would be exorbitant in the CP department. Well...not really. Div Comm moves the Brigade Group uses inherent for the complex move test. For second move, would need two points. Hmmmm...

I recall it says somewhere Officers cannot be "with" artillery for needing the 4+ to move unless they are an attached artillery brigade commander.

Well he is not with it, it is part of the same brigade. Your point would mean that limbered artillery couldn't make a second move as part of a brigade, since he 'can't join' an artillery unit. The brigade rules state you can have a single artillery unit in a brigade, and any CMT's affect the whole brigade. All units would be attempting to move, which is allowed, one of them requires a CMT, to do it being the only odd part in this situation.
I do not see any reason a prolong would not be allowed.

So then a second question would be:
IF the CMT is failed, could the infantry then perform a simple move and move ahead of the artillery?
Can a unit trying to move as a Brigade Move, move individually if the Brigade fails to perform the desired initial action?

A brigade move means the whole thing moves as a single unit, if the CMT is failed and the artillery can not move then no one can move. Your brigade all has to make the same move, which in this case is a 2 MU advance.
You can't pick up or drop units during a brigade move.

That's my take on it too. Take the chance but live with the consequences. In this case, there is no simple move for the Brigade to fall back on doing.
