I got a feeling, you try to produce a modernized SMAC
with a nicer graphics and with a few changes here and there. I think even this early stage the game is enjoyable, complete and stable.
I like the atmosphere and the sound/music background very much. I like the city management and the combats.
The faction management is very basic, compare with other Civ. like games (SMAC, CIV, or even CtP, {or I just cannot find it yet?
}).
I miss some central screen, where I can check and adjust how my faction is doing in different areas, like money, research, food, minerals, etc.
The research is a bit too simplistic for me, and the randomized items sometimes don't make much sense to me. (i.e. A few times there are many buildings to put them into the queue, but other times quite a few building research are missing form the research tree. I love big cities with lots of buildings.)
At the beginning, when there are no strong weapons yet, a random strong alien can wipe out a city easily, with one or two defending units.
