Transports

I've read thru the manual online here... I might have missed it, but I had a tricky time figuring out transports (not sure I have entirely).

I had been playing for a good 80 turns past researching the tech required, but plenty of landmass to explore. I was just reaching the point of wondering and noticing they are not listed as an option in the workshop, I saw a couple sailing around that belonged to the AI and I still couldn't figure out how to build a transport, or design a vehicle in the workshop with that ability.

It was just a few turns later that I accidentally routed some unit to the other end of the continent and it took off across a lake and "formed it's own transport"?!

I might be the only one that missed that function... I couldn't find anything about it here in the forum... but it's worth a mention on how that works.

You need to research "Naval Transportation Logistic".
The Tooltip say "Advancement,. Land units can enter water tiles in transports"

After you got that, you can move with your Land unit into water, and they automatic converted into a Transport ship with 1 Power and 2 movement.
To convert the Transport back into a Land unit just move it onto land.

" Land units can enter water tiles in transports"
What it does not explain is Land units form their OWN TRANSPORT, that there is no transport required at the point where the Unit enters the water.

This isn't an "Earth Native" function... unless you are James Bond. All of my experience says before I drive my jeep into the water, there should be a transport built and waiting there.

I'm fine with the function I suppose... seems slow and vulnerable as a way to invade or explore other continents though.

It's implemented in exactly the same way n Civ5. But yeah, the wording could be improved ^^
