First Impressions

Over all after 6 or so hours of play, looking forward to playing it inside and out. Seems to be fairly well thought out... not quite as well documented... but that can be fun unto itself.

Initial download was the first disappointment. I couldn't find it's approximate size or stage of development listed anywhere, so after downloading the updater it took several minutes to determine that the actual download was going to take hours. That's fine, even expected in hindsight... but I was unable to set my expectations accurately.

So this morning game was ready to play and it consumes a great deal of resources and gets laggy after an hour or so, rebooting the game helps. Took a bit to start getting a feel for the interface, never been a fan of the Hex grid, but I get it and am adjusting. Once I started to learn my way around a bit, I realized there is a great deal of information available with a glance... This much control of a game is going to take some time getting adjusted to the interface, so I'll keep an eye open for any way I can help smooth rough edges there.

If I have any initial complaints, it's that the game looks so nice and polished... yet often required a few clicks to end turn or select a unit. It doesn't respond very well... like it's "thinking" about it.
