First Impressions & Crash Report

The download took ages, though I think that was partially my internets fault. My first impressions were good, the interface was all shiny, it had all the graphics options in the right place, and when I alt-tab out it doesn't crash. I personally think that a loading bar with the text overlayed would have looked better then just the text in the bottom right corner, but not overly important.
I started a game, the options all seemed fine, and off I went. The hints helped, not as boring as a tutorial, it just helped me learn the interface. After a few turns it reminded me a lot of Civilizations and Alpha Centauri. Playing a bit more I could definitely see the resemblance with alpha centauri, which is a very good thing.
Gameplay it was all good, no immediate issues that I could see, with the exception of my first games nearby AI. He was rather strange, he kept on giving me money, and then once declared war and a bit later just decided to give me money for a truce. We never did any actual fighting, I just ignored him and accepted his offers of money.
I was annoyed that cities were immediately destroyed when aliens ate them, I am used to CIV 5 where cities have health and can defend. In my second game I adjusted my strategy to take that into consideration.
Then at turn 80, the game server just crashed. I thought it happened in the middle of a turn, but when I try to load the save the same thing happens, so I assume it must have been at the end of the turn. I can't think of anything I did that triggered it, but I have uploaded my save and it seems to crash regularly. It's only the server that crashes, the client gets a network error after that.
