Typical Army points????

Having just pre-ordered the rules and getting back in here(I had originally been part of the Beta a year ago but work got in the way), I am hoping to get some games going soon.
I was looking about and saw that 800 points was being used at one tourney and that 1000 points was for a doubles.
Are there any prevailing thoughts as to what a "typical" sized game will be? Especailly for tournaments.

So far I think those are the standards: 800 for singles, 1000 for doubles. You will find that 800 points is more or less the same amount of minis on the table as DBM 400 points. The requirement to have almost everything in groups of at least 4 stands does make the army compositions a bit different though.

Jim:
I found that at 800 points I was using a few more stands than I would for an similar 400ap DBM army. Not a whole lot more, though. Maybe a number of stands equal to a 425-450ap DBM list. A very reasonable shift.

Good deal.
Got plenty of unpainted metal about and was thinking about what I might like to start painting to try out. Just wanted to get an idea of what to expect number wise, but sounds like for the most part it is about the same.
Thanks

Pity that the army lists for the dawn of time won't be out for a while. I'd like to see the snowball weilding Early Northern Barbarians get a run in FoG.
What can you do to top that?

Sold the Eskimos.
I do have a few ideas though and who knows if FoG turns out to be the ""Next" big gaming system I may get more and bring them back.
I would guess they are classified as Impact Foot???

If you upgrade them to sneaky, with stones in the snowballs, yes.
