Aspidoch refuses to die

In the attached file there is an Aspidoch in hex 5,22. Two hexes away is a Barracuda Artillery with a Long Tom. This is the point at which I got the Aspidoch down to zero strength. I have gone 5 or 6 turns beyond this point and fired on the Aspidoch each turn but it refuses to die. As I reported earlier, on a previous Aspidoch, after about 20 turns of firing on it at zero strength it finally died. This seems a little bit of overkill.

Do you mean it's at very low power like 0.1 to 0.3 for a very long time and you're doing less or equal to 0.1 damage to it?

Artillery is currently implemented like that. The less health the enemy has left the less damage you deal to it with artillery.

My question is why does the Aspidoch not eat your artillery unit. :)

No, in the saved game file I sent you, the Aspidoch is at zero strength. After that I continue to fire at it for upwards of 20 turns before it finally dies. I have already been firing at it for 10 to 12 turns to get it to zero and then it takes another 15 to 20 shots from the Long Tom to actually kill it once I have it a zero strength.

With a movement of only one, it is very simple for the Barracuda Artillery unit to sit off two hexes and simply keep firing at the Aspidoch until it dies. The Aspidoch moves adjacent when it moves and I simply move away 2 hexes and shoot at it again. Really easy to kill with artillery except for the fact that it won't die when it hits zero strength. Can't do it with the Leviathan as it moves 3 hexes. They do eat you if you try it with a Leviathan.

When I loaded it up he had 0.1 or 0.3 power. That's weird.
