It's going to be published by Ubisoft, which doesn't sound good... but generally what do you guys think of the idea?

The trailer told me nothing at all about the game or game play. I hope to see better information in the future, but time will tell if this is any good. I will stick with pc !

Ignore the trailer, but have a look at the screenshots. It has hexes, it has nicely done unit graphic, looking like a wargame figurines... hard to say more at the moment.

The trailer is well ... like most trailers nowadays, it maybe looks OK but tells nothing about the game. The few screenshots below seems to tell more ... i see some cards being used, the map looks like a board game field. It looks more like They are cannibalizing the name for something totally different. What they are implementing looks like an online version of Memoir '44 and not Panzer General.

No idea 'bout the game, but I'm still wondering why they decided to put the GIs vs. an early war Pz II in that trailer.

Well if they put Tiger in it, I doubt that the sequence with bazooka destroying a tank would be realistic

Panzer General online sounds great but its not Panzer General

This project had been offered to Lordz by Ubisoft a few years back, just after the Panzer Corps release, we set down together in Germany, but in the end after intern deliberation, we did not take the job as it was not our cup of tea.

Very nice guys though, they played and liked Panzer Corps, we even gave them some free copies...

Presumably it's a loosely based digitized version of the card/board game loosely themed upon PG.

I've worked with Ubisoft on F2P titles. I would run screaming in the other direction. No thank you.

Still I have to say it looks more like a PG game than PG3 did...

True but if I want to start grinding to be able to use my tanks, I'll play World of Tanks. In a strategy game I want cool scenarios, a relaxed time, and good content for a nice price, not a grinding nightmare where I have to pay ingame gold for every single crap I wanna use.

And Ubisoft has a tendency to do that kind of crap. I see it coming. Want to have the Halftrack for your infantry? Gold please...

It looks like crap, smells like crap, ergo...

Entertaining trailer, but really bears no resemblance to Panzer General.
