Operation Husky: Ouch!

Hello, new to BA but a huge fan of the Combat Mission series and similar tactical wargames. Love BA, possibly even more than CM, which is saying something! Anyway, I downloaded the Operation Husky add-on, as Sicily is my favorite campaign and a somewhat obscure one, so kudos to Slitherine on that one. Anyway, am I the only one who finds it, well...brutal? I beat the first scenario with no difficulty, and beat Primosole Bridge with full achievements in two attempts. Everything else is quite hard, especially Troina. Am I just incompetent or is there something I'm missing here? I breezed through the Western Desert Campaign, and found Normandy mostly easy with a couple real nasty ones, and I haven't played BotB except the first mission, which I beat. Is it just me or is OH waaaaaay more difficult?

You haven't seen pain till you've gone through Market Garden and Sealion! France and BotB are just brutal! Id say the hardest is BotB because of those god forsaken KTs!

Going to go give BotB a shot! I must say BA took me by surprise, and I am very impressed. And stymied.

Troina tips. You need to separate your initial units into two groups of about equal size. One group goes northwest (using the initial US starting position as south) to take out the German heavy guns on the hills. Clear the naval guns and their support and head toward the road leading north out of Troina. You have to take that road to get massively reinforced for the actual Troina battle, so time is of the essence, but be careful, don't throw away troops or APCs. The second group goes northeast to clear the near hills of Italians and Germans. Again, be careful, in this initial stage you can't afford to waste troops, you get no more till you take the northern road. Good luck

For Baptism of fire don't go through the City! Flank around the whole fortress and attack from the sides. You may meet some resistance but if you attack at key points the AI will fall apart!
