Changing unit stats.

Greetings,

I hope this is the proper forum for putting my question.

I look with interest at the various scenarios created by members and note that they often mention changing the unit stats. I am curious as to how they achieve this.

I have looked at the game equipment files, using Excel, and can see the stats listed and wonder if this is where changes are made. I tentively altered one of the infantry unit stats (reduced its ammo), saved the file but but on entering the game I did not see any change for the particular unit.

Would some kind soul enlighten me please?

Hello Zenophon, you are on the right track, the unit statistics are in the equipment.pzeqp file, which you can edit with Notepad or Excel. There are many settings you can change, some are very obvious (ammo, fuel, attack/defense values), others (like movement types or traits) require a bit more knowledge. It depends on what you want to achieve. Please make a backup before you start, to be sure you can revert if anything goes wrong.

If you change the file, you will need to start a new scenario or campaign to see the changes, just loading a saved game won't work.

Greetings ThvN,

Thanks for the reply, my curiosity is satisfied. No particular reason for wanting to know.
Changing files is a 'Black Art' as far as I am concerned.
When it comes to PCs I am Mr Default himself.
