Thank you a lot! Now I can buy in peace :) ...1st coalition period includes Venice, perhaps? I can remember just a small riot against Feench invaders in Italy in 1797, I fear it isn't enough to reserve a place in the book...

No Venice anywhere sorry. Best you can do would be a Kingdom of Italy list in Triumph of Nations.

Thanks. I'll try proposing a player designed list, Let me know what you think! Kingdom of Italy was my third choice :) but I have already a Venetian army on his way (really designed for Age of Reason, but till the end of the century just requires some minor changes)

There's a Sardinian army in Empires & Eagles (a big lowish quality unreformed infantry army, very limited numbers of artillery and cavalry, but it does have some units of poor veteran infantry) that fought the French in the early revolutionary period.

Could you pick the army you think is most similar to the Venetian and use the list for that and tell opponents, "these are odd looking Austrians", or whatever you've chosen?

Although Venice existed during the revolutionary wars (until absorbed by Austria in 1797) is remained neutral throughout - even though it was 'invaded' by both the French and the Austrians. It's not easy to speculate what a field army would loook like, but have no problems with you creating your own list.

I would think that the most similar list wouuld be the army of Sardinia 1792-1796, as previously suggested.
The list that you've created looks OK to me. I would suggest, however, that the standard 'line' troops should be a mix of average and poor (about 50:50).
Since Venice was at the low end of nearly a century of decline, and allowedFrench and Austrian troops to cross it's borders with impunity, I would expect the morale of it's troops to be generally lower than others of the period.

Thank you... how should 50:50 ratio be written in an army list, "at least half of the deployed units/bases of line infantry must be poor"?

I think Venice cannot by that time fight against any great European power, but an alliance with Austria was possible according to some historicians I read, even if the Venetian elite refused it, I don't know why, misjudging Napoleon, who was just provoking them to occupy the territory and install a revolutionary government...speculations, however :)

That would work, although something like this would do: "There must be at least as many bases of poor line infantry as there are average line infantry"
f you keep the count to bases rather than units it would allow players to use large units of poor and small units of average if they wish.
