Cities

It seems you can stack cites a bit close to each other, I have seen the AI have 20+ Cities a hex or two away from each other.
In other games like this they need a bit of room to grow or they remain small little towns and villages.
Just seems odd to have them that close, seems there should be a penalty on them as the are competing for resourced and land.

Hm! A penalty or bonus for growth based on how many neighbor cities are in the area sounds actually quite interesting and reasonable.

Used to CIV 2&3 where you had to spread them a bit.

I'd like to second this idea. Glad someone thought of it. Right now it seems you can build as many cities as close as you want with no penalty. The cities get just as big as if they were more spread out. Perhaps a greater penalty for building a city within the territory of another faction. Really annoying to have a faction plant a city next to your capital because you left a little room for the city to grow.
