Firstly, I love this game. I'm so happy to finally be able to play an RTS on my PSP while I travel. This really is a quality product, and I'm amazed at the historical research of each battle and the tactics involved.

Now for my question...

Is there any way to select the squads you want for a scenario which limits the # of them you can have control over? I hate having to disband the earlier squads that I've put so much money into just so I can replace them with squads better suited for a specific scenario. Thanks.

Yes you can choose which squads to use. On teh eployment screen select the squad you want to remove from this battle. Then press Square or Triangle - I get mixed up as PSP and PS2 have different controls because of the way TRC's work on the different hardware. Play around anyway until you find which button turns that squad off. The button is a toggle so press it again to turn it on. You must turn a squd off before you have room to turn another squad on,. This way you can choose which squads to bring. Note - you cannot turn the general off.
