Rules for blocking evasion routes

Does anyone know the exact rules for blocking evasion routes, when you manoeuvre units behind an enemy unit and charge it from the other side so it can't evade and you pile into its rear?

I ask because in a recent game I manoeuvred two light horse behind an enemy light horse, leaving a gap of one hex between my two units. When I charged the enemy unit it evaded through that one hex space.

I've tried replicating this in a custom scenario but the enemy light horse is always blocked from evading, even if there is a two hex gap between the blocking units.

Are the rules universal for all units (LF, LH, Cav)? Does unit facing make any difference?

Thanks in advance.

All I can think of was perhaps the LH you charged was really a cavalry unit (sometimes they look very similar) and a cavalry unit will ignore skirmish units when evading.

Thanks for the reply - I suppose that might be the reason. It was two or three turns ago so I might not be able to verify the identity of the escapee, but it seems to be the most logical explanation for what happened.

Rules wise, that's the only case where it could have happened. Of course, it may have been a bug, but I doubt it, the likelier scenario is indeed that it was a cavalry. This is especially true with non-protected horse archers, since they're easy to confuse with light horses due to not having armor and having a bow. Especially since some armies use the exact same models for light horses and horse archers, the only difference being that light horses has 2 "guys" and cavalry has 3 "guys" in the graphic.

There are also some scenarios where units of cavalry and LH (and some other BGs) are represented with the wrong number of figures. I think the bugs for DAG armies where this occured have been all or mostly fixed, but not necessarily so in all the scenarios.
