I am using 1.04 beta as Iain said it was the same as the official one. Sometime it is the overview map which turn black, sometime it is the close view. Anybody else witnessed this? I should have posted this in the tech support sorry.

Does it happen on specific maps or at specific times? Once it happens does it recover? Any info you can give us might help us track it down.

Well, so far it happenned 2-3 times, either in zoom in map and overview map. When it happened I saved my game, got out in windows, restarted the game and it was fine. While it is black the game is running fine, and we can see the units, its just the terrain that was black. Maybe it has something to do with my graphic card or something else.

Its possible. Let us know your system specs, but unless we can find a pattern there is not a lot we can do about it :(

I don't know if you have resolved this problem yet, but I had the same experience. Did you by any chance have a mod applied to the game before the patch? That was my problem, and the fix was to restore the game to vanilla and then patch it. If you want to mod it, you will need a new mod---1.00 or 1.03 mods won't work with 1.04 presumably.

Mods can have all sorts of odd effects so this could well be the problem. We can't support any modded versions.

Just to clarify, I wasn't suggesting that Slitherine should support a mod. My question is whether Syagrius had any modded files in the game data and scenario folders. Which would then perhaps explain the anomalous display corruption. :D

He hasn't actually confirmed that his installation was modded...

No I didnt used any mods (I never use mod). However I can say that since I have updated my graphic card drivers the problem seems to be resolved.
