MF bow at impact

In a straight forward case of a MF bow unit in ranks 2 bases deep being charged frontally, we are all aware that the bow get 2 dice for each front rank base and 1 dice for second rank shooting.

My question is what happens if the charge is still a frontal attack but comes in at a legal angle that contacts the end front rank base of the line on the front corner and, stepping forward, hits the side of the second rank base behind it. I understand both bases will fight and get 2 dice each but have I lost the extra dice from impact shooting that I get in the straight forward case?

The contact on the rear base is treated as if it was on a front rank base, so you get the shooting dice for both bases in contact.

Stops cheesy charges to reduce shooting

Just like if you hit a 4th rank of pike counting as a frontal charge, he'd still count 4 ranks.

While i agree with Phil, this is often not perceived as clear enough and occassionally you get rulings where the 2nd rank attack does not get the rear rank shooting dice unless their is a base behind that. It would be nice if it was perceived as clearer or in the FAQ.

Agreed, can we add this to the FAQ please so I no longer loose dice at the club on a Tuesday night - After all with my standard of play I need all the dice I can get!

So in the example given does the MF get 4 or 6 dice?
