Hi all,I've just downloaded the Demo game.Initially the game would stop working when I'd move a unit.After looking at the forums I tried a system reboot and found that when I'd disable "Multimedia Class Scheduler" that I could play the game but with no sound.I then tried renaming the Audio File to _Audio and enabled the Multimedia Class Scheduler once again.Now the game plays but still with no sound.

I'd be grateful for any tips.

I'm planing on buying the game anyway (an old Panzer General addict) and I'm wondering if this problem with the Demo version would carry over to the full game or not ?

When starting the game I have sound over the inital screen while moving the cursor around (click click click) and sound on the intro video,after that it goes silent.

By your description, It seems to be related with wav file. However I'm not able to determine which is causing this in your system.
Usually it's with a broken filter or with Windows MCI. But in your case it could be related with your USB sound card.

Try replacing the wav files with mp3 versions. Check this thread:

Could you disconnect your Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 headphones and use a normal set connected to the onboard audio card?
Probably, for the test to be more effective, you should uninstall those USB phones and have only one device sound.

Thanks again for replying.I just tried disconnecting the USB head set and turning the speakers on,but no joy.I looked at the uninstall list of programs and couldn't see the Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 headphones on it for me to uninstall.

Those headphones were installed with a driver. Realtek mixer settings can also be very painful sometimes.

I have read your thread again from the beginning, and now I'm a little confused... Have you ever renamed back the folder to "Audio"? Because if you still have it as "_Audio" it won't play any sound besides the video intro.

Yes,I did rename the Audio file getting rid of the _Audio. I'll see about getting a PC guru around to read your last post and help me out a bit.I feel I'm letting you down a touch as I'm not that flash with the tech side of things,took me 2 days to get around to peeking inside the files to change them :p felt pretty good about myself when I'd done it all though LOL.
