rounding off my questions about LOCs

When assaulting a unit in contact with and on the far side of a LOC I take it the unit for all intents and purposes front is the edge of the LOC?
When assaulting the defensive fire happen 2 MU from the LOC?
Cavalry assaulting infantry in the open not in square measure the 2MU for cohesion level drop from the edge of 2MU to the LOC?
And support fire if there is adjust unit to the unit defending touching the LOC does it count as additional def fire dice and support?

Page 72. Says you contact either the loc or an enemy in contact with it. You can only count as occupying it if there is no enemy in contact with it etc.
Position of enemy troops to the lic is irrelevant' you both fight as if you were in frontal contact, all that matters is that both units are touching the loc.
As for support its a hard to say, the enemy still has to be in the support zone, and you have to be in the proper support range. If both conditions are met I guess the answer would be yes.
Personally I would reconsider having 2 units on guard duty, as it means less resistance in the front lines to face off against your enemy.

Although the LOC is just a merker, we have to make allowances for the fact that it physically exists as a base.
An LOc cannot be occupied without assaulting the unit touching it. The best way of doing this is to consider the LOC as part of the unit touching it. You therefore will take fire at 2MU from the LOC and measure retire distances (including to 3MU) from the LOC.
