Scythed Chariot Support

My friends and I have been playing FoG for a fair few years now but it waned over the last 12 months however we have recently come back to FoG with version 2 and are thoroughly loving it.

I have morphed my Later Carthaginians to be general successor type army now as well and in my first game I was running scythed chariots and a situation arose where a unit in front could gain support from the chariots behind. My opponents claimed this didn't seem right but I couldn't find anywhere in the rules where they couldn't support a unit. None of us had actually used scythed chariots before or faced them so we weren't sure about their abilities.

What I was wondering was could the scythed chariots support the unit in front or did I jip my mates in the game?

I looked through the rules forum here but my searchfu is not great and I couldn't find any answers so apologies if this has been asked before.

Cheers
Martin

AFAIK you are correct - Scythed Chariots meet all the criteria to enable them to provide and receive rear support.

The criteria are listed on P143.

As someone else remarked once, seeing all of those spikes and blades behind you might make you think twice about running away?
