It's Here!

The Pirates in Competitive Action!

In one of the most extensively trailed competition writeups ever seen anywhere on the whole internet, the Buccaneer Army takes to the field at Campaign in Milton Keynes (well, where else would you expect to find Pirates eh?) for 5 games of cutlass-swinging, eyepatch-wearing, blunderbuss-shootin' Pirate-ey action of the most intense type imaginable.

See how me band o'hearties fared in combat in 5 pages, 200 pictures and several thousand words of puns, random links, irrelevant videos and three of the best episodes of Madaxeman TV ever broadcast!

Arrr!

Very entertaining. Much better than TV.

Well done for avoiding to mention those crudely named fictional crewmen of Captain Pugwash haharrrrr

Shiver me timbers, splice the mainbrace and break out the rum! Your best set of reports yet even for Lolloping Landlubbers like meself!

I think I'm in love with Pocahontas and that amazing dance she does in the first video - great indian accent - all the way from Madras rather than Tsenacommacah!!

Thanks for the time you spend doing these Tim - both entertaining and inspiring! :D

I have a nasty suspicion that writing the reports is now taking longer than actually playing the games I'm reporting on...

I have to say what a nice looking army even if it struggled and ballsy of you to take it. Keep writing the reports to inspire us...

Hardly ballsy as it was in a very tightly themed competition in which Buccaneers were the army of choice for 50% of the entrants with the French and Huron's combo's making up the other 50%. There were no cavalry armies which are the bane of medium foot armies.

However if Tim takes them to an open comp such as Warfare, as Lurkio (Simon Clarke) did and risks being ridden down by cavalry, then that is ballsy!!!

However I do agree it is a VERY nice looking army!

Great report as always you scurvy dog Congratulations on a nice shiny trophy a most excellent place to store your doubloons. Don't listen to those scurvy landlubbing dogs who doubt your command ability I believe you can use those boys successfully again. Thanks for the hard work and entertaining reports.

Excellent reports as ever, but a few questions:

1) Shouldn't these be Arrrs, not AARs?

2) Would the Pirate dice be better if the Skull and Crossbones was the 6?

3) Why am I now being plagued by this advert?:

Image

4) Is it suitable for ages 4 to 8?

5) Will I find it too Piratey?

Arrrr, be you meaning the good Cap'n himself, Master Mate, Barnabas, Willy and Tom the Cabin Boy? Or be you a-telling of the urban myth that they did be Master Bates, Seaman Staines and Roger the Cabin Boy?

If google is now serving everyone who reads this report adverts for a Pirate Memory Game when they visit other websites, my work here is probably done... :D

Oxford Doubles in October any army dated 1695 I think the pirates could survive in that, most of the cavalry is crap, shoot it away and gets what is a beautiful army out for 4 more games

just a thought

That's a thought that has already been had.... Just not sure it's a big enough army for 2 people to use though...

That easy - partner Paddy, give him one BG (the ship would be good) and then play as normal. Works for Alasdair :D
