Allied Corps asks for panzercorps.exe ...

Just downloaded allied corps and deleted panzer corps from my hard drive (it killed to much time after all).
After installing the game, first thing allied corps does is to ask for the panzercorps.exe.
Didn“t you say it was a stand-alone game?

So do I have to reinstall panzercorps?

Thanks for helping,

basti

Correct, the game doesn't need any of the previous games installed. But Allied Corps installer probably found traces ofa previous Panzer Corps installation in your system, and is trying to install as an expansion.
There are two ways to fix this. Or you completely uninstall Panzer Corps from your system, and this include removing Windows registry keys, or install Panzer Corps and then install Allied Corps.

Hi VPaulus, thanks a lot for your reply.

It`s what I feared. So now I have to search for fragments of PancerCorps on my system.
I`ll try to clean the registry with ccleaner.

Why for Heavens sake don`t let slitherine the user decide whether he wants to install Allied Corps as an expansion or as a stand alone game?
Ridiculous. What, if people have sold their PanzerCorps and are not able to clean all fragments from their system ... then Allied Corps won`t run.
Game over. Money for nothing. Chicks for free.

Again, thanks for your help,

Best regards, Basti

Hmmm ...
After deleting all PanzerCorps-files and registry entries, I installed Allied Corps again.
But still, the programm asks for the panzercorps.exe.

Strange enough, it creates a Panzer Corps folder within a Panzer Corps folder. A structure that I once created by mistake but erased long ago.

Installation only took ten seconds. Much too fast for my taste. And indeed, the folder only contains three subfolders: Allied Menu; Expansion; Uninstall.
No scenarios etc. The exe-file is about 639 MB - should be okay.

If you have any ideas, please let me know.

Best regards, Basti

If Panzer Corps was uninstalled correctly, by using the standard uninstall feature and, of course, without any crazy interference from a third part program (like AV, etc), then no traces of a previous Panzer Corps installation would be found in the system, and Allied Corps installer would install it as a stand alone.

CCleaner will not help you. To be honest, most reg cleaners will not probably do anything. You'll have to delete manually or if you tell me your Windows version (32-bit or 64-bit), I can create a Panzer Corps registry uninstaller and post it here.

Allied Corps installs to the Panzer Corps folder and the exe is Panzer Corps even as a stand alone just in case that causes confusion.

Hi Iain, hi Vpaulus,

last night I finally gave in and installed PanzerCorps again. Now everything works fine with Allied Corps.
Without the origninal game, Allied Corps didn`t install properly, seemingly due to traces of a previous PanzerCorps installation.
Though everything works fine now, it still could be nice to have a registry uninstaller as you proposed.
In my case, the games' uninstall feature was somehow corrupted.

Thanks for your help, I have to hurry now and fight back the invaders.
