Slow AI Performance

Looking for advice , direction, options settings
As I progress thru a 2nd solo game, i am running into the same extremly slow AU turn performance.
I tired 1941 Campaign as German and now 1943 Campaign game as Soviet.
Same issue as the turns progress the game slows to a crawl taking over 10 minutes to complete the AI turn.
I am running version 1.07.08
Options:
Graphic Quality = Down
Show move path=off
Computer is Intel Core Duo E8400 @3GHz with 8gb Ram
Windows 7 (64bit) loaded on an SSD
Game loaded on 500gb Seagate Std harddrive
