Corrupt download?

This maybe normal operations but have never seen this extreme before. Playing against the AI to learn strategy and Panzer Corps functions I run across these problems:
1/3 of my units inoperable when starting my round, some units will not allow recruitment even though unit has not been used or upgraded during round, units magically disappear after AI turn is complete and switches to user round (units in good shape) and my favorites: AI funky moves such as:
King Tiger strength = 9, experience = 342, high kill/loss ratio and many medals taken out by SU100 with strength = 4, experience = 206 and low kill/loss ratio on flat open ground with no arty support.
AI moves, attacks, returns and recruits.
And my personal favorite: moves, attacks, moves, attacks and return and recruit.
Now this maybe normal operations as its purpose to train in human vs computer campaigns or this is one AI that hates to lose.
Also is there a way to turn off auto retreat? That is just plain annoying and almost always leads to a breach in user defensive line (had Panther G retreat with strength of 7 and no possible way to be attacked).
Even with all these kinks, Panzer Corps is just damn fun to play.
