Prestige Begin: 2626 At Deployment: 1420 End: 1978 Victory Bonus: 1500
Results: Triump 15/18
Upgraded 2 x 25 Pounder to 2 x BL 6 inch.
Purchased Tactical Bomber Beaufighter IF and a Strategic Bomber Stirling I
Began with 2 small fighting forces:
North: British Inf, Rolls Royce Recon, Cruiser I, BL 6 inch, and a Aux Engineer.
South: Rolls Royce Recon, Cruiser I, Cruiser IV, BL 6 inch, and a Aux Engineer.
The Northern force will first take the Fortress of Maktila. Will use the Beaufighter to knock out the supporting artillery and the Cruiser and the BL 6 inch will bombard either the artillery or the fortress to deplete entrechment. The engineer will clear the approaching mines. After taking Maktila, the force will then concentrate on the Fortress of Toummar.
Next, assualt Sidi Barrani. There is supporting artillery and a naval cruiser that will need to be destroyed. Finally, move SW to assualt Buq Buq. It is defended by light armor and entrenched infantry.
The Southern force will first take the Fortress of Nibewia. The Stirling and artillery can be used to deplete entrenchment. After taking Nibewia, let one Cruiser join the North force assualts. Move the remaining Southern force to capture the Fortress at Sofafi (the $ hex).
Couple of points... 1) There are enemy fighters, 2) An enemy naval cruiser is stationed near Sidi Barrani, and 3) Capture Sofafi before all VH have been captured so as to receive the prestige reward.
