My First Thoughts (Linux tester 64 bits)
Installation
You need to unzip it, there's no installer and no the typical tar.gz
The installer could be .bin like developers use in their ports for humble bundles.

Fast. No configuration problems appeared to me on Graphics Detection, but I have the Nvidia privative drivers that are the best on Linux.
New Game
Starting the game is easy. The background is great, but the name of the game maybe be a little bigger than now, because it's small in my 26" Full HD Screen.
Maybe you need to put any animation, but it's ok.
Playing the Game
I played at least 100 hours of Sid Meier Alpha centaury and this game is in the same style, but Pandora is better than Centaury.
The UI it's too minimalist. I discovered lower menus after 15 minutes playing. It's too grey.
I think that to go out of the city menu you need a button on the right not only the center.
The rename may be need to have a yellow pencil to see it clearly. I
The gameplay it's almost perfect. When I built my first city used the classic B key and worked.
To end turn I would prefer Ctrl+Enter
No problems in stability. It's the most stable beta that I ever played on Linux.
Overall
These is the best game in the genre that I played in years (far better than Civ V).
I think that if I need to give now a Metascore that will be at least 85.
Now it's the best turn strategy game on linux.
