Gankatron's bugs, tweaks, and suggestions for the beta.

Hey all. I figured that I would keep my thoughts under one thread:

1 ) tweak - As I stated earlier the diplomatic features are inconsistent and don't seem to be based in previous actions, rubberbanding between positive and negative responses. It doesn't make much sense for an AI opponent to declare war on me and shortly offer me tribute as opposed to asking for a truce.

2 ) tweak - It would be nice if after loading a saved game the camera would auto-center on the actual unit that is selected for movement instead of an unrelated one.

3 ) suggestion - The difficulty on Hard is hard at the beginning, which is good, but it rapidly decreases to non-challenging as the game progresses. I quickly felt that I was just trying to push through my turns to find the next hive or city to obliterate without any unit losses on my side. Perhaps ramp up the unit strengths as the game progresses and bring out new tougher unique units.

4 ) suggestion - Put in random events such as can be found in GalCivII, everybody likes random events to keep the game interesting in between killing enemy units.

5 ) suggestion - Add in extra reward types upon capturing a hive such as freeing units, getting items, getting heroes, which leads to 6 & 7...

6 ) suggestion - Add in heroes like Warlock:MotA.

7) suggestion - Add in items for said heroes like Warlock:MotA. I still remember an old Alan Dean Foster Star Trek book about finding Slaver stasis boxes that contained items, and even reading about the prospect of find such powerful alien artifacts was exciting (of course I was a kid so the books might feel trite now). You could give them a limited number of uses if they might be OP.

8 ) suggestion - Tie tributes into some action like a declaration of non-aggression for so many turns, etc. As it is now the tributes seem like random slot machine payoffs without consequence. If the player violates the terms a negative consequence might befall them such as a negative diplomatic modifier for so many turns.

9 ) suggestion - Add more diplomatic options as per other games such as CIV V.

10) suggestion - allow for capture of non combat units.
