Hi,

After successfully registering the Rommel expansion it bombed out.

I have the option of repeating this...or selecting Battle Academy on the drop down, which also expects a serial number. That's been long lost in oblivion. I purchased BA direct from your site.

Anyone else got it running on Mac?

You would have needed to have a working BA version installed before running the beta. Was this the case?

If it is asking for your BA serial number, then I assume that it's a new install? The best way to fix all this is to do the following I think:

1 - delete ~/Documents/My Games/BBCBA
2 - run the original BA and re-enter all your serials (as per the instructions, you should never use the beta to enter any serials other than the beta serial).
3 - now run the beta and enter only the beta serial

you should now be up and running in the same way as all the other OSX beta testers

Thanks Pip for your detailed reply.

It's an old install. I've had it for ages. (Check the dates of my first posts regarding shadowing problems)

But since installing and registering the Beta ...the original also now asks me for a serial number.

I've served for the welcome email that I must've got when I first bought BA,,that contained a serial number, but can't find the bloomin' thing.

If you registered the game, or played MP, then the serial number(s) will be shown in your My Page (login to the main site page and you should see a link to it).

Did you perhaps delete ALL the .SER file rather than just any that started with a + symbol?

Not sure what MP is. I bought the base game and the two first expansions. For MacOS and iPad.

Checking MyPage says no serial registered...!

Also not sure what or where .ser files are.

Looks like I've lost it then, unless I can somehow locate the serial I was emailed.

If you email support@slitherine.co.uk with your order details then hopefully they can help recover your serial.

Can you check that you have a ~/Documents/My Games/BBCBA folder on your machine. If so then your serial should be in the BBCBA.TXT file in that folder.

Thanks again Pip - I think I've used up too much of your time already

I found the BBCBA folder easily, but no BBCBA.TXT. What have I done...I think I must've tangled up the 2 versions somehow.
I see the +F1B6.SER you mentioned.

Will contact support when I get back to Blighty. In the meantime I can still play BA on my iPad!

It sounds like either you cleaned out the original folder in a flurry of tidying or perhaps you are running under a new account (which would have its own Documents folder).

Hopefully we can get you sorted out in short order.
