Late heian to muromachi

Hello,
I do not quite understand the choice made by the creators of FOG :
We know that since 1450 the daimyos had armed with a lot of infantry with pikes. Some were more 7m long. We also know that the infantry was trained.
The creators of fog decided to give "offensive spearmen" to part to the infantry instead of "pique", why not! But I don’t understand why these troops are not "heavy foot" and not trained since 1450.
Moreover, it would also be more logical to have more offensive and defensive spearman in later medieval.
