When I attempt to launch the game, I get an alert window that says "Pandora Updater has encountered a problem and needs to close. Please contact support." I didn't see a support post in this forum, or a support link at the top, so I thought I'd post here. I also tried launching pandora.exe, and pandoraupdater.exe manually through Windows Explorer, which gives the same error. Any help would be appreciated, as this game looks great!

I am attempting to launch in administrator mode
I have 64-bit Windows 7
My computer is good enough to handle the game resource-wise

I have the exact same problem.

Tried on 2 pcs (a desktop and laptop) both with Windows 8 64-bits.

Try downloading the files again. I had the same problem early in the beta testing and when I downloaded the files a second time it worked fine.

Same issue here, -as soon as I click on the serial number entry field game crashes. Will download again and report back.

Please disable and close any and all anti-virus and other non-essential programs.

If you continue having issues, please attach all logs from the installation's Logs/ directory and system information (start > system information > file > save).

Deleted Pandora. Downloaded installer files again, installed again, now I can't get to the key entry screen, it just crashes to desktop, same error message as the OP mentioned.

-I don't have any anti-virus software. I'll see if I can dig up the installer log files.

Same problem here; the game exits before it starts - "Pandora Updater has encountered a problem and needs to close. Please contact support."
Re-downloaded, disabled antivirus programs. Any other game plays just fine on my high-end system. It looks the developers need to work on the install program...

thank you SephiRok, i suspected that this might be the problem, however updating the drivers proved somewhat complicated.

my laptop is a l650 toshiba satellite originally with windows 7 which i upgraded to win 8 x64.
my graphics card is identified as ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6500M/5600/5700 Series

wisely toshiba does not provide a win 8 driver for this laptop model (at least one that works) and the standard catalyst drivers from ati do not work either.
after some search i found a package that works and installs all the catalyst components/drivers.
(www2 . ati . com/drivers/mobile/11-4_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe)

game has now updated and started and i' m just getting into my first game

Your graphics drivers are very likely outdated.

If anyone is using Comodo Internet Security Premium, I would recomend starting the game in sandbox mode, it worked for me.
