frustrated at 66

At 66 yrs. old it would be convenient to say I'm too senile to cope, but having spent from 12 midnight to 3 am.trying to download "Commander" I am not happy.
Despite a lack of useful information about the game I decided to risk buying as I have previously bought and enjoyed "Chariots,Spartan and Troy"
So I order the game for download, message says confirmation e-mail shortly with download instructions.
30 minutes later nothing has arrived.Usually ordering over the net gives confirmation almost instantly,so I assume I have made a mistake. I check this forum and deduce that I have to be a member to order,so I become a member and re-order. Same result. Await confirmation.
After 1 hour 30 minutes I Decide to post on this forum for help. While writing I get two messages together with order information but my original mail is not posted.
Questions. How do I get my money back for second order?
Why do I get no response to my order for 1 1/2 hours ?
Do you realise the damage done if download companies haven't got their acts together and customers have to spend hours trying to order goods?

I'm sorry that you have had some issues with your ordering. I am sure that as soon as the office opens in the morning then we will get your problems sorted out as soon as possible.

One thing I would suggest is to check that the confirmation email hasn't been filtered by any form of spam or junkmail filtering that you might have running.

We're well aware of how frustrating it can be when people attempt to order goods online and run across issues. Please believe us when we say that we work hard to try and make sure the process works.

Cheers

Pip

Sorry for the problems. Mail is not always instantly as it sometimes has to be routed through different servers so it can be very variable. It's also possible it was held up by a spam filter as Phil suggests.

You do not need to wait for the e-mail to get going. On the payment page there is a download link. All you need to do is click this and you dopwnload the game. This is to avoid any issues waiting for e-mails.

If you can send the duplicate order confirmation mails to us at info@slitherine.co.uk we'll check it out and get it sorted. Note - you may have to verify yourself to our spam filter for the e-mails to get through.

Regards

The Slitherine Team.

Thankyou for your quick response, which highlights your concern for your customers.
I thought you might be interested in my response to my troubles as I am sure many consumers act in similar fashion.
A quiet drink and download before bed seemed a good idea, but turned into a nightshift because I am awkward enough to try and solve problems confronting me.Having stayed up for much of the night ,a quick glance at the manual and map were all I could cope with.
The next evening ,I found it difficult to raise the enthusiasum to play and on meeting my first problem( moving troops overseas) ,gave up.loaded up old favourite HOI2 and played happily for 3 hours.Normally, part of the fun is in working out how to play but I am finding it difficult get interested.
That is what I meant in my earlier post, asking if you realised the detrimental effect downloading problems can have.
I have used four different download sites and judging from forum posts on the various sites, the newish technology causes much upset, largely the fault of the download sites rather than the game companies .
In my case.Saying my order is being processed and e- Mail will follow SHORTLY,does not mean a couple of hours. In nearly every case in my experience, that means within five minutes at most.If I was informed that a hold up was likely I would be O.K, but sitting waiting for hours is not likely to lower blood pressure.
Finally,in my opinion,Slitherine and Ageod appear to be the most responsive sites for serious gamers on the net ,I hope to continue to support you for a long time.
