Congratulations to Julian, Juanmi and Pedro

I look forward to reading some reports. I am just sorry I couldn't make it. Perhaps next year.

Hi All Again  .

Julian Played a Wonderfull Latin Grecee Army, with a lot of LF Bow, I think 5 or 6 BG, mixed with A lot Of Undrilled Knights.

Julian Charge, and Charge and Charge again with the Knights, and evade, and Shoot, and Evade and Shoot again with the LF. He can the only man who could stopped to our International Champion Pedro J Sanchez, (although I Did sweat him a lot of  )

Juanmi, was Wearing a very Fashionable Achemenid Persian  , 3X 4 Superior/Armoured/Bw/ Cv, many LH, and 2 X 8 Imortals Superior/Armoured/Bow.

He Shoot, and Shoot, and Shoot again, and Charge, when he get disruptions into the enemy army. But I think the He could not defeat me in 3,5 Hours. We played more of 4 hours becuse we are testing the rules and stopped the game a lot of times.

Pedro, was the Tournament Killer, he get 3 Big wins, 31-1, 32-0, 29-3, and lose only with Julian.

He take a lot of Shooting LH and Cv, I think 3x6 BG LH/Bow, and 4x4 BG Cv/Armoured/Superior/Bow/Sword.

Pedro Shoot, and Shoot and Shoot, and Charge to the soft enemies troops. He is a brave man, because he charged with his Cv into the Rought going a lot of times and Win.

Yup, lots of mounted bow in one of them ey Roger ;)

Seriously I suspect that mounted bow armies are probably one of the types that is relatively easy to get to work well but I also think that there are definitely counters to them and that an army like Latin Greek (knights and massed LF bow) could be one of them.

I am a little concerned that LF bow may be a touch too good, especially when you have say 8 BG's of 8 bases.

This will be the big test of FoG. If (when) everyone learns that LF bow are "too good" will we see the rise of the Dailami/Almughavar/Thracian/MF impact foot to counter them? And then the rise of something else to prey upon the MF theorists?

That sort of paper/scissors/rock pregression is the test of a game with the potential to endure, and is one of the crowning glories of DBM. Only time will tell, but I have high hopes.

Pedro was using Ottoman Turks and very well too except against my Latin Greece army where a combination of bad luck and judgement cost him dear. Following a post-match analysis, we both felt confident that the Ottomans would win a rematch hands down.

Will post an account of my games at some stage. For now, the one issue we noted was that only MF fighting vs mounted in the open get a -1 in the cohesion test. We felt it should be MF and LF.

Regards,

Julian

I can already feel some of this fashion thinking in my own games so I expect there will be some nice evolutions over he first year or so and people swing into different theories and back again. As you say all part of the fun.

Can we have the full list of results and armies used. Also if possible some AAR's and an account of the event would be great for www.fieldofglory.com

We are working towards bringing the site fully on line.

A PM with the results and the report if available would be best

We felt that having only half dice against everything except other LF was a big enough disadvantage.
Giving them a - on their CT as well would be overkill.

No problem. I'll try to get it to you ASAP once I've recovered from the 500 mile trek back home and collated photos and views from players and organisers.

It would be great to feed the results of the competition in to the ladder if you had agreement from all the players. All they woudl have to do is log in to the ladder with their forum username and pasword and report the game they won or lost and approve any pending results against them.
