Animation: How to change the direction of movement?

Gents,
Does anyone know how to change the direction of movement for animations?
My new 'German freighters' are all sailing backwards...

Hi Gl88
I don't think you can just change direction of movement in animations as it all depends on the which direction the original object was exported as an s3f file.
If we could get our hands on the original 3d model files to get it into gmax I could turn it around so its the right way round so it goes forward and export as s3f file and then compile it in BA to get the s4f file.
It would be really great if we could get our hands on the other 3d model files that could be modded to new buildings etc.

Hmmm, thanks for the heads up Richcat!
Grrr... A pain that it's not going to be easy. I was hoping that we could just toggle one of BA's animations FX calls in the unit's txt file...
Thanks for your kind offer to export the 'barge' gmax and turn it 180o tho. That would be perfect...
Pip, is it possible to 'lend' us the original freighter 3D model? Please.

I have asked Richard to post the file.
Cheers

Hi there,
Sorry I'm a bit slow on the uptake

Which boat model do you need?
Great map BTW - really impressive.

Thanks for your kind comments, Richard...
Dieppe's still a bit beta, but the army/navy concept is interesting... We had a lot of brainy guys sharing great ideas... Your BA game engine is incredibly flexible for adding fun stuff!!
The 3D model we're looking for is the freighter (I believe it's an Arnhem barge; shown in the screenshot below). Richcat believes that he can turn it by 180o, so we can drop it back into the game, moving in the correct direction...

PS...
Once we get Dieppe properly balanced, I'd like to move on to extending 3D army/navy for Pacific scenarios based on Amaris' NAM engine...
If you're willing to share, please could we take a peek at your 3D models for the MGB, FairmileB and Invasion Barge (from Sealion) too...?
Theoretically, how could we import 3D models for other warships? I guess we'd work on some freely available ones initially, to test the idea... Maybe resizing carriers and battleships over 3-5 squares, instead of the 2 squares of the largest ship models currently available...
IJN Akagi example 3d model
IJN Yamato example 3d model
Might that be possible? Or is it completely crazy?

Here are all the naval based objects I could find (the landing craft are from Sicily). I also include an old model of a Marine Corps Amphib that we had lying around - it should probably go to a good home.
I've already rotated and exported the barge for you - so hopefully you can get started ASAP.
Hope that helps - let me know if there are problems.

Massive thanks Twoeyes...
WOW! That's totally amazing... I'll plug your rotated 'freighter' into my working update straight away...
You guys (at Slith) are absolutely wonderful in so many ways!!

Hi Twoeyes
Many thanks for the models, saves me from flipping the freighter, but is it possible to have the max. models the in 3ds. format to import into gmax to export them as s3f files - it can't afford max and my free trial ran out years ago.

Hi GL88
Where did you find those models for the carriers etc.
I have been looking but found very little since the Naval mod arrived.
I bought a load of books on the carriers & battle ships and planes etc to start modelling in a BA style, but work and family have taken up much of my of late - hopefully I get some "spare" time in the future to help out.

Hi Richcat,
Am REALLY excited you've been scanning background to warships...
To be honest, I was just googling around for '3d models ww2 pacific'...
This site has some interesting named warships but I suspect these may be for sharing and visualising in 3d, rather than for exporting for our purposes...
http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/search?tags=IJN
Try searching for WW2 aircraft carriers, so specific ships by name, eg. Akagi, Hiryu, Yorktown...
Let me know which file types you are able import? Am happy to explore this much, much further...
Good luck with real life too, R... I know exactly what you mean, 'bro!
