How can I invade Italy

I know the answer is land but besides sicily i dont see a way a successful landing can occur.
The city on the tip of the boot is to hard to take even against the AI.

Maybe italy needs some moral drop as i believe after sicily fell the italians collapsed except the germans in italy held it partially together.

I have no idea just wonder what others do with italy. Really would like to get away from standard sc strategy of just leaving it until invasion of france.

Leave it alone until after Berlin falls seems a favorite choice, otherwise via Sicily seems the logical choice and then the long grind up the boot. Or bypass it altogether and go for the Balkans!

Yeah Italy is a bitch - vs. the AI I can win against it. Sometimes I go for southern France/Italy and that works, using air from Corsica. However against a human this usually fails :(

lol thats what i kinda thought. I find landing in this game inadequate. They land and cant move, then they are out of supply next turn. Cant even have them as an option to move next to area and land in same turn.

If you have a naval unit next to the coast it does provide minimum supply to units that can trace to it. You have restricted movement and can only repair 1 level per turn but at least you are in supply.

Very simple, build 2 extra CVs for GB, tech up your CVs, have them bomb the crap out of Rome, drop 2 units adjacent to Rome and bye-bye

Similar to IDGs ability to wipe out Sweden in one turn with 4 TAC bombers and a couple of troops, YES 1 turn and Sweden is toast.

cool thanks for the tips, forgot about the whole naval unit next to coast supply.
